Adita Hasan is a Senior Counsel at Vertex Chambers. She is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and a Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, United Kingdom. Ms. Hasan completed her Bachelor of Arts in English from The George Washington University (summa cum laude) as a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, and the Graduate Diploma in Law and Bar Vocational Course from BPP Law School in London. She has over ten years of experience working as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She has previously worked for several years as an Associate at the renowned firms Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates and Rokanuddin Mahmud and Associates. At Rokanuddin Mahmud and Associates, Ms. Hasan worked as Counsel directly under Senior Advocate Barrister Rokanuddin Mahmud, where she was involved in a number of landmark constitutional cases. Ms. Hasan has also acted as an independent consultant for international and national organisations in various legal matters. Her publications include contributions to studies on human rights and personal laws related to women and family in the context of South Asia, and articles such as “Far From Equality” and “The Land of No Accountability” in the national daily the Dhaka Tribune.
