10.12.25: Vertex Chambers recently represented a leading multinational company in a Writ Petition challenging a demand of over BDT 100 crore on account of Value Added Tax by the National Board of Revenue (NBR). We successfully secured an interim order from the High Court Division which stayed the demand for a period of 3 months. This case questions the extent of authority of NBR to interpret the law in light of Article 111 of the Constitution of Bangladesh.
